All prescriptions are now sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy.
You will no longer need to visit the Surgery to collect a paper prescription. This makes the prescribing and dispensing process more efficient and convenient.
If you have not yet nominated a pharmacy to receive your electronic prescription, it is not too late! Please complete a nomination form (available from reception).
For patients that have not yet nominated a pharmacy, you will be given a printed token, which you can take the pharmacy of your choice. They will then be able to download your prescription using the unique barcode on the token. The barcode enables the Surgery and the pharmacy to track the prescription and to check its status. Printed tokens do not require a doctor’s signature.
There is NO change to the procedure for ordering or processing a repeat prescription. Please continue to order exactly as you have done in the past. If your pharmacy is responsible for ordering your prescription they will continue to do so. Please continue to allow 2 working days in full (48 hours) for your prescription to be processed. This has not changed.
