Patient Online Services

We are committed to enabling patients to go online to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions and view their own health records within their GP practice, and allowing them to take more control of their healthcare.

It’s an example of how the NHS is embracing new technology as part of its drive to offer modern, convenient and responsive services to patients, their families and carers – with GP practices leading the way.

We recommend using the NHS App to access your online services (more info here).

Currently, it is a mobile only app which you can download for free from the App Store or Google Play, and you can use the App to:

  • get your NHS COVID Pass – view and share your COVID Pass for event trials in England and travel abroad.
  • get advice about coronavirus – get information about coronavirus and find out what to do if you think you have it.
  • order repeat prescriptions – see your available medicines, request a new repeat prescription and choose a pharmacy for your prescriptions to be sent to.
  • book appointments – search for, book and cancel appointments at your GP surgery. See details of your upcoming and past appointments.
  • get health advice – search trusted NHS information and advice on hundreds of conditions and treatments. You can also answer questions to get instant advice and medical help near you.
  • view your health record – securely access your GP health record to see information like your allergies and your current and past medicines. If your GP surgery has given you access to your detailed medical record, you can also see information like test results and details of your consultations.
  • register to be an organ donor – choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision.
  • find out how the NHS uses your data – choose if data from your health records is shared for research and planning.
  • view your NHS number – find out what your NHS number is.

If you do not have a smartphone, you can also use Patient Access. This is a platform that offers the same services via your mobile phone or desktop computer – more info can be found here.

To gain full online access, you need to download the patient online services application form, complete it and bring to reception with photo ID. A member of our reception team must verify your identity before you can be provided with a linkage key, an ODS code and an account ID – this is an important step to protect your sensitive data.

Once you have created an online account, you can then use the linkage key details provided by the practice to gain access to your full online services.
